One of the most important adult life skills when we are overwhelmed with multiple responsibilities at the same time is time management. When we talk about studies, work, family and personal life, somewhere the rope definitely escapes and we don’t know where to start. That is why today I want to tell you about effective time management strategies that will help you put your life in order in practice.

1. Prepare a to-do list

It is very difficult to remember many responsibilities and perform them together at the same time. Therefore, it is imperative that we prepare a to-do list so that we do not burden ourselves even more. If you like taking notes on paper and pen, the development agenda, if you like technology, Google Keep will do the job. Thus, what you will do will always be in front of your eyes, and it will be easy for you to add and remove elements.

2. Priority ranking

Is it enough to make a to-do list? Of course not. To manage time well, you need to determine your priorities, that is, decide what is more important and what cannot be put off. Responsibilities that will contribute to your academic and professional life during the university period are a priority. After university, responsibilities related to personal and professional life will come to the fore. Prioritize your responsibilities based on your life circumstances.

3. Schedule time to focus

Today our attention was stolen. In order not to distract our attention, we need to plan when we will focus on what work. Identify periods during the day when your energy is high and your attention is focused, and schedule those periods of time to focus on your toughest tasks. You will see your productivity increase throughout the day.

4. Stick to a routine

Although routine can be boring, it is very useful when it comes to time management. Have certain routines in your life and stick to them. A morning or evening routine will help you feel in control of your life and help you develop healthy habits in the long run.

5. Be flexible but realistic

This is life, of course, there will be failures in your plans. First of all, accept that this is normal in today’s environment. The most important thing in time management is to be flexible and realistic. When making your plans, always have a plan B in mind and leave a few free time periods to give you flexibility in case you fall behind your weekly/monthly plan. So when a plan fails, you don’t completely lose control of your life.

Finally, avoid being too rigid and controlling while managing your time effectively. Instead of making the mistake of taking control of your life 24/7, focus on making your days more enjoyable.
